Playing With Fire

The Contestant#26

Before driving into this story, have you read ‘Nana and Papa G

“Giovani! Tell me you didn’t gamble away our grandson’s college fund!” Sophia said, giving her husband a stern look.

“Not all of it! You already know this! I told you every time I dipped into his college fund.” Giovani said, throwing his hands in the air.

Sophia shook her head as she looked at her husband.

“I knew you were dipping into his college fund, but I didn’t know it was for gambling!” Sophia shouted as she slipped her purse off her shoulder and began hitting him with it.

“Damn you Smiley.” Giovani shouted as he hurried towards the stairs and began climbing them.

Like white on rice, Sophia was hot on her husband’s heels, chasing him to the second floor as she continued swatting him with her purse.

“I should probably follow them and make sure that nonna doesn’t kill him.” Noah said.

“Good idea.” Corey and Adriana said at the same time.

And so while Noah took off after his grandparents, Corey and Adriana headed towards the kitchen.

“So did he really cheat?” Adriana asked as she opened the fridge and grabbed a water.

Corey stopped in the middle of the kitchen and cocked their head to the side.

“Come on, it’s Papa Vinny.” Corey said, causing them both to laugh.

“Gotdamn Smiley, your dad’s right, you are an enabler.” Adriana said, shaking her head.

“No, that’s not true! papa was a salesman back in Italy! He can talk anyone into doing anything. That’s how he got nonna!” Corey said, throwing their hands in the air.

Adriana shook her head.

“I hope you know I’m telling him you said that the next time I talk to him.” Said Adriana.

Corey flicked their wrist as if they were shooing away a fly.

“Go ahead and tell him, I don’t care.” Corey said.

Adriana cocked an eyebrow up at them, challenging their statement, but Corey held firm.

“Alright, I’ll call him right now.” Adriana said, inching towards the doorway of the kitchen.

Corey leaned against the counter with their arms crossed across their chest.

“Call him.” Corey said again.

“I will, in fact, I’m going right now.” She said, making her way to the door.

It wasn’t until a few minutes after she backed out of the kitchen that realization began to set in.

“Oh fuck! She has his number!” Corey said out loud.

Rushing out of the kitchen, Corey dashed through the dining room, and into the living room just in time to hear Adriana running up the stairs.

“Adriana! Come onou don’t wanna do this!” Corey shouted as they rushed across the living room.

The dark red hardwood floors might as well have been an ice rink the way Corey slid across it. Then, just as they were about to crash into the wall, they slapped a hand onto the rail, five fingers gripping onto the wood for dear life.

After just enough time to steady themself, Corey rushed up the stairs, taking them two at a time.

Corey arrived on the second floor just in time to see Adriana hurrying down the long hall that led to her bedroom.

The loud thumping of their feet against the floor caused Adriana turn around.

“Oh shit.” She said, noting how fast Corey was catching up to her.

Picking up her pace, she hurried further down the hall before sliding across the threshold of her bedroom. A split second, that’s all it took for Adriana to come to the realization that sliding into her bedroom was a horrible idea. Now she was too far from the door.

But still, Adriana turned around and rushed back across the room and attempted to slam the door shut. Before she could even get to the door, Corey was in the doorway.

“Cornelius, get out! You know you’re not supposed to be in here!” Adriana shouted as she pushed on their shoulder.

“What? I was in here this morning!” Corey said, pushing her back.

The pair were locked in a struggle, Corey attempting to take the phone from her as Adriana tried to force them out of the bedroom.

Eventually, Corey managed to push her back far enough to allow them to get into the room.

“Just give me the phone!” Corey said as they reached for the phone.

Whipping around, Adriana turned her back to Corey as she held onto the phone for dear life.

“Cornelius, you’re not supposed to be in here!” Adriana said as she held the phone close to her chest.

Wrapping their arms around her, Corey attempted to pull the phone from Adriana’s grasp, but she had a death grip on the device.

And so, Corey lifted her off the ground, causing Adriana to let out a scream before they dropped her onto the bed.

“Just give me the phone!” They said, poking at Adriana’s sides.

Adriana let out a loud yelp before squirming her way up the bed in an attempt to get away from Corey; however, the attempt was useless. The second she moved even an inch, Corey’s hand wrapped around her ankle, pulling her back towards them.

“Give me the phone woman!” Corey said.

“No!” Adriana said, trying to move up the bed again.

This time, rather than pulling her back down again, Corey jumped onto the bed, hovering over her as they reached for the phone again.

Adriana thought about pushing Corey backward and making a run for it, but the hall incident proved just how much faster Corey was.

So instead, rising from the bed, Adriana captured Corey’s lips with her own, bringing a half gasp, half moan from Corey’s lips.

Corey filled their hands with the bedsheets as they groaned into the kiss.

Corey and Adriana had agreed there’d be no more horizontal make-out sessions; not after what happened last time.

But as her legs wrapped around them, and her hands slid up their shirt, Corey couldn’t care less about what they’d agreed upon.

Adriana groaned as she felt Corey’s weight settle on top of her.

Why the hell did she have to run to the bedroom?

Corey’s hands were everywhere, making Adriana wish that their clothes would just melt away.

Should she just say fuck it and go for it? They were so close to the finish line; but not close enough.

“Corey.” Adriana panted, struggling to keep her voice low.

Corey wasn’t even supposed to be in her bedroom.

The feel of their teeth against her smooth skin was almost enough to make Adriana explode.

“Corey, we can’t.” She said.

And like water being dumped on an open flame, Corey withdrew themself from her.

“You’re right. My bad.” Corey said, their chest rising and falling as if they’d just run several miles.

Sitting up, Adriana pecked Corey’s cheek.

“Don’t be sorry, I want to too.” She whispered in their ear.

Before they could even react, she pushed them towards the door.

“Now get out before you get us in trouble.” She laughed.

And so, walking backward, Corey made their way out the door and hurried down the hall.
