The Contestant#14
Have you read ‘Dressed To Impress‘?
Adriana took slow sips of her champagne as she allowed herself to sink into the massive comfy couch.
As some horrible eighties disco music pumped through the speakers of the living room, she watched as the contestants made their way down the winding staircase, dressed in their best attire.
“Yo, who chose this trash ass music? I feel like I’m about to shoot an eighties porno.” Alex asked as he looked over at the house staff.
“Don’t look at us, Corey chose this music.” Joey, the head chef, said.
Alex, along with the rest of the contestants, all turned their attention over to Adriana.
“How come Corey got to pick the music?” Alex asked.
Adriana shrugged.
“Hell, I’d forgotten all about the music system in here until just now. Here, grab the iPad and I’ll put on some better music.” She said.
After getting the iPad, Adriana changed the music, and her private fashion show resumed.
Much like on the first night, everyone had on their Sunday’s best. But it was Ali, a songwriter from LA, who really caught Adriana’s attention.
Ali wore a black suit with blood red silk lining the inside. His black low cut gator boots, with the red bottoms tied the outfit together perfectly. But what really did it for Adriana was Ali’s mesh see-through top and his black pearl neckless.
From the second he walked into the living room in that outfit, Adriana knew, he had to be the one that would accompany her to this gathering.
But at last, there were still a few more contestants, who’s fits Adriana had to assess. As the final five stepped out into the living room, all Adriana could focus on was Ali and those pearls.
Damn he looked good, and judging by the pearly white grin he flashed her, as they locked eyes, it was clear that he knew it too.
After the last contestant had finished showing off their fit, all of the contestants returned to the living room and lined up shoulder to shoulder, allowing Adriana to look them over.
“Wow, I thought you all looked good during that mixer. But damn, this little fashion show put that mixer to shame.” She said, causing everyone to laugh.
“Sadly, I can only take one of you, and that one is gonna be Ali.” Adriana said.
Ali gave a fist pump, causing Adriana and the rest of the contestants to all laugh.
”Alright Ali, I’m off to see if I can make myself look half as good as you. Everyone else, I’ll see you all when we get back from the event.” She said.
After being dismissed, the contestants broke off and headed upstairs to get changed.
“Don’t wait up kitties.” Ali laughed as he sunk into the sofa.
Adriana came floating down the stairs in her favorite black dress. With a long flowy bottom, and mesh sleeves, the dress clung to her in all the right places.
Coupled with a pair of red bottoms, Adriana’s dress was simple yet stunning.
“Wow, you look amazing.” Said Ali, his voice no louder than a whisper.
Adriana could feel the intense heat of Ali’s gaze as his eyes grazed over her like hands.
He took his time, taking her in like he was trying to commit every inch of her to memory, and Adriana couldn’t lie, it was hot.
When his eyes finally made it back up to hers, Adriana could barely see the whites of Ali’s eyes, thanks to how dilated his pupils were.
The look in his eyes was pure desire, sending goose bumps rippling all over her skin.
“Ready?” She asked, her throat suddenly dry.
For a moment Ali didn’t say anything, he seemed to be stuck in this trans like state, and that only fanned the flames of the fire that was building in the pit of Adriana’s stomach.
“Ali, ready to go?” She asked, her voice a little louder this time.
“What? Oh shit, yeah, sorry. I’m ready to go.” He said.
Chuckling to herself, Adriana held out a hand.
As Ali placed his hand in hers, the warmth of that fire, that had started in Adriana’s stomach, began to spread throughout her entire body.
“You think he’ll get the first kiss?” Jess asked.
After changing into some more comfortable clothing, many of the contestants gathered in the in-home movie theater; figuring that watching a movie would be the best way to past the time. But after spending an hour scrolling through Netflix in search of something to watch, the contestants picked a movie at random, and the second the movie began, they all turned to one another and began talking.
Johnny, a pub owner all the way from Ireland, shrugged.
“If the man is even half as smooth as he dresses, they’re for sure gonna lock lips.” He said.
There were a few groans as well as sounds of protest mixed in with sounds of agreement.
“I don’t know, dressing nice, and having actual game are two different things.” Rodney said.
The contestants went back and forth for some time, many of the women, along with Corey and Alex, arguing that maybe Ali would get a little smooch.
“Man whatever! Weather he gets a kiss or not, it really doesn’t matter. Cause once Adriana and I kiss, she’s gonna forget all about you lames anyways!” Edwin declared confidently.
The women rolled their eyes as a few hands rose up to flick him off, while many of the men simply laughed.
“You wanna put money on that?” Jake, a retired basketball player said as he pulled out a wad of cash.
The second the money came out, the men all began yelling and shoving one another.
“Oh great, maybe they’ll take each other out leaving less competition.” Said Alex as he leaned over to Corey.
Corey could only laugh and shake their head as they watched the shoving match escalate into a full-blown wrestling match.
“That’s fine by me.” Corey said, watching as Edwin wrangled Brock into a headlock.
