A Movie Get Away

Wait a second, before this, you’re gonna wanna read, or re-read ‘Oh How Times Have Changed‘ first.

“Lovey, you’re going to be late! Hurry!” Vivian yelled from her spot at the bottom of the stairs.

Up in her office, Felicity read over the checklist she and Connor had made a few days prior. She had all her lenses, her favorite point-and-shoot, extra batteries, her laptop, and her drone.

Zipping her backpack closed, she slipped it on and made her way out of her office.

“Ahh, there you are, I was beginning to think you’d never leave that office,” Vivian said with a laugh.

“Sorry babe, just had to make sure I had everything.” Said Felicity as she leaned in to kiss her wife.

The women pulled apart as Vivian laced her fingers in with Felicity’s before pulling her out the door.

“I can’t believe you’re leaving me!” Vivian said dramatically, as she wiped fake tears from her eyes.

“Why don’t you hit up one of those dudes that be in your DM’s? See if one of them wants to playhouse or something.” Felicity joked, as they made their way into the elevator.

Being a model, Vivian always had people in her DM’s, wanting to take her out, send her money and gifts, or just wanting to see her feet. Of course, Vivian paid them no mind, she had Felicity, and while both women had had conversations about potentially opening up their relationship, but between work and maintaining their own relationship, the women had very little time left over for friends and family.

“You know what, that’s a good idea.” Vivian said, wagging a finger at her wife.

The women broke out into a fit of laughter as Felicity shook her head as she caught her wife around the waist and pulled Vivian flush against her.

“But in all seriousness, I’m gonna miss you.” Felicity said as she pressed her forehead against Vivian’s.

Vivian gave a little pout, her bottom lip jutting out, making Felicity want to kiss her silly.

“You’re lying. You’re gonna get out there with Connor and all those other filmmakers, and you won’t even think about me once.” Vivian said, pulling away from the other woman as she called for the elevator.

Felicity gasped in mock shock; Placing a hand over her chest, Felicity pretended as if she’d been shot.

“Me? Forget about you? Never!” Felicity said.

Vivian rolled her eyes as the elevator dinged and the women stepped on.

“Whatever, I know how you and Connor get when you two are in your own little world.” Vivian said as she feigned jealousy.

“Little World?! What little world? The only world I have is the one I’ve built with you, my lover.” Felicity said.

Grabbing a hold of Vivian’s hand, Felicity brought it to her lips, where she attempted to press a kiss into her wife’s knuckles. But before she could even touch Vivian’s skin with her lips, Vivian ripped her hand from her wife’s.

“Bullshit! I know you be calling him ‘work hubby’ and shit! I’m not stupid!” She said, turning her back to Felicity.

Felicity laughed; her wife was a natural when it came to theatrics.

“Love, it’s just work, I only love you!” Felicity said.

Vivian opened her mouth to respond when the elevator came to a stop, and the door opened to reveal none other than Connor standing on the other side.

“Speak of the devil.” Vivian said, looking Connor up and down.

Connor looked from Vivian to Felicity, then back to Vivian again.

“I don’t like that face! Am I in trouble?” He said, looking from Felicity to Vivian, then back again.

“I don’t know wifey, is he?” Vivian asked, turning to look at Felicity.

Connor rolled his eyes, as his wife, Samantha, approached the pair.

“Viv, did you know that this is an anniversary trip?” Samantha asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

Vivian’s eyes went wide.

“Wow! You and your little side thing have an anniversary?!” She said, crossing her arms over her chest as she turned to look at Felicity.

Connor raised a single digit, signaling his interjection.

“Actually, Felicity and I have been together longer than the two of you, so if anyone’s the side piece here, it’s you.” He said.

Samantha gasped, her eyes going wide as Vivian slowly spun around and looked Connor square in his eyes.

“It’s true, I was here first.” Said Connor.

Vivian said nothing, all she could do was wag a finger at him before turning back to her wife.

“Get cha hubby.” she said, pointing to Connor.

Connor, Felicity, and Samantha all laughed, then, after loading up Connor’s Surburban, Connor and Felicity kissed their wives before hopping into the car.

“You ready to spend the next three weeks in the woods making movies?” Connor asked as he pulled out of the driveway.

Felicity chuckled.

“I guess, but this still has all the tell-tale signs of a horror film.” She chuckled as she turned her seat warmer on.

Connor laughed and shook his head.

“I know you’re joking, but that could be a great concept.” he said as he pulled out of their neighborhood.

It took about thirty minutes to get to the first house, but luckily, Jarvis, Johnny, and Patrick all lived on the same street, so Felicity and Connor scooped them all up from Jarvis’s place. After that, they began making their way to the cabin, stopping to pick up Patrick and Marcus along the way.

Once everyone was in the car, ideas for potential short films began flying around the car. The boys weren’t even really trying to brainstorm, but the excitement of being surrounded by so many creative minds, and the desire to make the most of their trip had everyone’s minds racing.

They had a few hours before they got to the cabin, so Felicity whipped out her phone and began making notes of all the ideas. After quickly realizing that the boys’s ideas were coming out faster than she could write, Felicity busted out her phone and started a voice memo before jumping into the brainstorming.

As they drew closer and closer to his family cabin, Connor could feel himself getting more and more excited. He and Felicity had no clue what would come of this trip, but if the boys’s conversation was anything to go by, then Connor was sure it would be epic.
